If you haven’t heard of the Cable District, that’s because it’s been called everything from NoKno to the Arts&Drafts District. This area of town is home to a good chunk of Knoxville’s brewery scene, some amazing coffee shops, and great restaurants – very worthy of a definitive name if you ask us. Cable District is the most recent and our favorite, so that’s what we’re going with!
CABLE stands for Central, Broadway, Lamar, and Emory – the basic geography of this neighborhood. It also gives homage to the old street car that used to run up and down the area. From the low-key vibes of Crafty Bastard Brewery to the mouthwatering goodness of the aptly named Donut Shop, the Cable District has something for everyone.
And while the Cable District may be the perfect place to play, just a short walk away are the coveted neighborhoods of 4th & Gill and Old North Knox, both full of gorgeous landscapes, sidewalk lined streets, and beautifully restored historic houses.
