The Museum of Appalachia Did you know we have a Smithsonian Affiliate museum right in our midst?! The Museum of Appalachia is an immersive museum and they’re inviting all of us to experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of early Appalachian life during their annual Fall Heritage Days.
Come experience Open Fire Cooking, Storytelling, Shape-Note Singing, Rug Hooking, Pumpkin Carving, Sorghum Mill, Basket Making, Spinning & Weaving, Broom Making, Lard Rendering, Blacksmithing, Lye Soap Making, Coopering, Wood Carving, Colonial Soldier and Seamstress Demonstrations, Quilting, Corn Milling, Flintknapping, and more!
