DOWNTOWN

Downtown

Between the railroad and the river lies the heart of Knoxville, TN: downtown. With sidewalks and patios galore, it’s easy to walk the entire span – and yet, scooters and trolleys are also available if those heels end up being a bad idea. Park in one of the many cheap parking garages (free during nights and weekends) and then spend a worry-free afternoon galavanting around the many local parks, museums, bars, and eateries.

What is there to do Downtown?

  • Head downtown on the First Friday of every month for extra art, shows, and snacks

  • Get a view of the mountains and the city via the top of the Sunsphere

  • Spend the night bowling at Maple Hall or catching a show at one of the various venues!

  • Enjoy a cocktail on a rooftop bar or a tucked away speakeasy

  • Spend your day exploring the museums and historical sites!

Boyd’s Jig & Reel: A Look Inside
What makes a good bar great? A bartender who can juggle pint glasses? The physical bar itself? At Jig and Reel, I would say it’s the overall essence that makes it so unique. Just as scotch is one of those special spirits that manages to distill the essence of Scotland into a bottle,…
