Fear not: We will quickly get to all the best deals and parties happening on Cinco de Mayo in Knoxville, Tennessee. But first: If you hang out with New2Knox on any type of regular basis, you probably already know we appreciate a good pun. And a bad pun. Honestly, we love puns of all kinds. With that in mind, it is important to me that you know my maiden name was Finke. Emilie Finke. So while the rest of the world may recognize the holiday called Cinco de Mayo, in my mind it is and always has been lovingly referred to as Finko de Mayo.
See, aren’t you glad we made you read through all that before getting to the main event? 😉
Nooow we are here to share some of the best deals & festivities happening around Knoxville for Cinco de Mayo!🎉 As we learn more, we will share more. (Yes, when it comes to queso, guac, and marg specials, we are suddenly hard-hitting investigative journalists.) Buckle up, babes, it’s bound to be a wild ride!

WEST KNOX: WEST HILLS
Remember that time the West Town Mall got a restaurant with a rooftop bar? We honestly thought that was a WILD decision 😂 but the tables have turned and we are officially [que]sooo here for it 🙌 Loco Burro is pulling out all the stops for Cinco de Mayo including a DJ, taco-eating contents, donkey riding contests, piñatas, and mooore!
WEST KNOX: BEARDEN
You might not think about going to a brewery for Cinco de Mayo, but Voodoo Brewing Co is not your normal brewery. Not only do they have a big ole food menu, they will be slinging MARGARITA FLIGHTS all weekend. They’ve also recently opened up their patio for the first time since opening (they opened up in December) so we wiiiiiill see you there 😂
WEST KNOX: HARDIN VALLEY
Out in Hardin Valley, Orange Hat is hosting a Salsa Social with HaCha Latin Dance Company! Come at 8PM for an intro lesson before salsa-ing the holiday away with an Orange Hat bevvie in hand.
WEST KNOX: CEDAR BLUFF
Mexico Lindo in Cedar Bluff will be open extended hours (til 11PM!) with live music and (*drumroll please*) $2.99 margaritas, babyyyy!
EAST KNOXVILLE
Speaking of breweries on Cinco de Mayo, Last Days of Autumn may not have margaritas, but they wiiiiill have four different taco specials (their Birria Tacos are a local fave), live music, and a new Light Mexican Lager on tap!
SOUTH KNOX: SOUTH HAVEN
If it’s nice outside on Friday, it will be hard to beat the energy of the SoKno Taco patio! They’re offering brunch from 9-3PM (including $10 mimosa carafes), Happy Hour from 4-7PM, and then live music starting at 6PM!
NORTH-ISH KNOX: OFF MERCHANTS
Monterrey Mexican Restaurant does not mess around, people! They know what we’re lookin’ for 😂 Here are the specials they’ll be slingin’ all day on May 5th: 32oz draft beers for $6 | 32oz House Margaritas for $9 | 32oz Texas Margaritas for $11 (consider us former Texans intriiiigued 👀.).
DOWNTOWN KNOXVILLE
A maaaagical thing has happened, y’all. Cinco de Mayo and First Friday have landed on the same day. I KNOW. Insanity. Downtown Knoxville is bound to be full of lively energy no matter where you land, but here are a couple fun things to keep in mind: Five Thirty Lounge is hosting a Tequila Tasting on their rooftop. The Old City is hosting a Cinco de Mayo Pub Crawl. And Babalu, Soccer Taco, and Chivo will all be slingin’ delish margs & tacos to the masses! (Babalu will have $30 class marg pitchers 👀)
Like we said, we will update this with more deals & parties & goodies as Friday gets closer. Let us know if you hear of any not listed here as well! Before we go, sweet friends, please don’t be dummies and drink too many margs and hurt yourselves, okay? And don’t be dummies and appropriate any cultures, okay? Be smarties, and just enjoy good friends, good guac, and good times at good restaurants 😉💛 Cheers, friends!
