First Friday Downtown
Art, Culture, (and Snacks), Oh My!Art, Culture, (and Snacks), Oh My!
Downtown Knoxville erupts into a magical land of art, culture, and (free!) wine and snacks on the First Friday of each month! Businesses transform into galleries, while restaurants and bars host a myriad of performances from comedy to music to poetry. Map out your First Friday experience, or simply park and stroll – either way, you’re sure to come out of the experience very fancy and impressive 😉
Pro-Tip: We suggest starting around the 100 Block of Gay St. around 5pm and working your way through the Old City. But make sure to hit staples like The Emporium*, Visit Knoxville, and the Art Market!
THIS MONTH:
⭐️ Pop over to Contra for a Baker Boy Pizza Party 🎉
⭐️ Lilienthal Gallery is opening an exhibit called “Her” featuring all women artists. Hear from one of the artists at 6:30pm!
⭐️ Pretentious Glass will be open with glass demos. Snag a beer from next door & watch the magic happen!
⭐️ In the Old City, peruse a street market (this month, there’s SQUARE DANCING 🤩) or head inside spots like Dogwood Arts, Awaken Coffee, Able Trade, and Rala to enjoy art, live music and refreshments.
