They don’t call us the volunteer state for nothin’, Knoxville! Want to know how we in Knoxville can help with Hurricane Helene relief? You’ve come to the right place. We experienced a hurricane or two during our time in Texas & know firsthand the impact of strangers coming together to help 💛 The fact that so many organizations & local businesses are already figuring out ways to give back to our neighbors in Newport, Asheville, and other areas after Hurrinane Helene swept through – well, it warms us to our very bones 🥲 So if youuuu want to jump in on the love too, we’ll keep compiling the spots we know are giving back right here!
DROP OFF DONATIONS
TREETOP COFFEE SHOP: Do good, drink good? Say no more. Treetop is accepting a whole slew of items. Click here to see ’em.
RIVERSPORTS OUTFITTERS: Our fave outdoor outfitter is accepting things like hydration, baby supplies, hygiene products, linens, clothing, & flashlights
PINNACLE AT TURKEY CREEK: These guys accepting bottled water/Gatorade, blankets, toiletries, flashlights & batteries, baby formula/supplies, non-perishable foods, first-aid supplies, wet wipes, & disinfectant at the Regal Cinemas from 9am-9pm.
SCRUFFY’S CAFE: Have a heart for the four-legged furballs impacted by Helene? Scruffy’s Cafe in North Knox is accepting donations for impacted pets including food, litter, bowls, collars, leashes, pee pads, cleaning supplies, blankets, & towels.
INSKIP GRILL: They’re accepting bottled water & cleaning supplies today (9/30) before they head to Newport tomorrow to offer free meals to folks affected by the flooding.
DOWNTOWN NORTH: Crafty Bastard Brewery: If you can drop off donations of granola bars, trail mix, tampons, bar soap, wet wipes, or toilet paper to Crafty’s Emory Place location, they’ll be flying them out to Asheville on Thursday, 10/3. Xul Beer Co: These guys are collecting jugs & cases of water at their Downtown North location through Friday, 10/11. Around the corner, Barrelhouse by Gypsy Circus is partnering with the Tri-Cities Brewers Collective to collect donations as well!
YASSIN’S FALAFEL HOUSE: Forever the friendliest, both Yassin’s locations are accepting all sorts of supplies until their trucks are full. Learn more here!
GRACIE LEE’S GIFTS & MORE: This cutie lil boutique in Fountain City is accepting donations of diapers, wipes, formula, & feminine hygiene products now through Tuesday, October 8th!
SEVIER AVE: Talk about a street stickin’ together! So many businesses on this south side street are accepting donations through this Friday, 10/4. Bring your donated supplies to Alliance Brewing, Everything Mushrooms, Hi-Wire Brewing, Landing Health & Performance, Mood Ring Vintage, Printshop Beer, Redbud Kitchen, Riverside Veterinary Clinic, SouthSide Garage, South Coast Pizza, or Trailhead Beer Market.
SHOP & EAT FOR GOOD
GOLDEN ROAST COFFEE: These guys are partnering with English Mountain Spring Water in Dandridge to donate a gallon of natural spring water for every purchase at the shop. Time to over-caffeinate, people! 😉
OTSU + KAIZEN: 10% of sales at both of these delishhhh restaurants this week are going to the Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief Fun of East Tennessee Foundation!
WHIMSY EMPORIUM: $1 will be donated to relief efforts for every human who walks through their doors through Friday, October 4th – no purchase necessary!!
A DOPO & POTCHKE DELI: This absolutely iconic duo will be donating 10% of all sales to disaster relief efforts through Thursday, 10/3.
THE BLACK DOG BREWHOUSE: This ✨new✨ spot in North Knox will be donating all of their proceeds on Sunday, 10/6 to grants designed specifically to help rebuild agricultural infrastructure in rural communities, including their hometown of Hamblen County.
SCRUFFY’S CAFE: 25% of funds earned through next weekend (10/6) will be donated to charity’s helping the cause.
ORANGE HAT BREWING: If you bring any of these approved items to Orange Hat Brewing in Hardin Valley from now until Friday, 10/11, your first beer is on them!
POUR TAPROOM: They’re throwin’ an event on Wednesday, 10/9 to support the cause! Every donation made to East Tennessee Foundation’s Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief Fund will be matched by Pour. More details will be on their Instagram page!
COLD HARD CASH
EAST TENNESSEE FOUNDATION: Their Neighbor to Neighbor Disaster Relief Fund is actively aiding folks impacted by floods in East Tennessee by empwoering local nonprofits & agencies to rescue their own communities.
UNITED WAY: United Ways in East Tennessee & Western North Carolina are doing similar work – organizing resources and connecting those in need with those who can help, supporting volunteer efforts, and bridging communication to ensure our neighbors have the support they need to recover.
COKESBURY UNITED METHODIST: These guys are accepting donations for cleaning kits. A complete bucket costs $75 but every bit helps! You can give online here or compile your own bucket with these items & drop it off at Cokesbury.
SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK: They are accepting water donations at their warehouse in Maryville, but also super appreciative of monetary donations which will help them continue to help as needs arise/change over the coming days & weeks!
RED CROSS: This isn’t your first rodeo. We all know the Red Cross is on their way when things get tough & Hurricane Helene is no different. (They also have some opportunities to volunteer.)
