Adventure but Make it Magical

Ahhhh, Ijams Nature Center. Knox locals know it and love it as an all-encompassing answer to the question: What should we do outside today? Just the name itself brings dreams of hot summer days and a cool oasis to hang with friends or family. There’s paddle boarding, kayaking, trails for days, drinks at The Outpost…. and an adventure course? Oh, yes. Enter: Navitat Canopy Adventures.

Navitat is a hidden gem and a super cool adventure course built high in the canopy of the green forest of South Knoxville. It’s is an entire setup of multiple adventure and zipline courses, ranging from beginner, moderate, to difficult levels – legitimately something the whole family or friend group can enjoy. In fact, there are six different courses to choose from – each with different elements like swings, bridges, climbs, nets, and ziplines.

Climbing through the elements high up in the trees makes you feel like a monkey in the rainforest, a champion on Survivor, and a National Geographic researcher all at the same time. (Seriously, if you look down at the right time, you may spot a large tortoise hiding in the greenery!)

Pro-Tip just for New2Knox (straight from a fitness coach) so you can (oh so casually) impress all your friends on the first try: Use your core strength and hold higher on the ropes to help you balance better on all of the elements!

While Navitat is beautiful during the day, it gets even more magical at night. Lucky for you, they also offer the Navitat at Night adventure. The entire course lights up with beautiful Christmas lights under the twinkly night sky and is truly an experience to remember. Sounds like the perfect date night, right?!

Navitat at Night
Whether it’s a magical date night or a uniquely fun day, it’s just not quite summer until you’ve had a South Knoxville adventure.

Not sure you’re up for an adventure like Navitat yet? Check out some other fun options like jumping in a local quarry or paddle boarding down the Tennessee River with Knoxville Adventure Collective!

Pro-Tips:

  • STUDENTS get a great discount with their ID for only $30!
  • Get a 4-pass punch card or even a yearly membership if you love Navitat and one adventure just isn’t enough for you!
  • Check out Navitat and tag us in your photos on Instagram so we can see how much you loved your canopy adventure experience!
