Your Guide to a Pet-Friendly Knoxville

It’s fun to grab a drink after work with your pals. It’s more fun to grab a drink after work with your pals and your pups! Not only are dogs the best, but they also act as incredible buffers if you’re in a new place. Want to meet some strangers? Life hack: Get a dog.

Thankfully, Knoxville is a super dog-friendly town and most bars and restaurants are more than happy to host your pupper on their patio. The problem arises when it’s rainy or, you know, frigid. We’re here to help! Next time you want to bring your pup with you on a fun night out, check out some of these indoor dog-friendly businesses!

1.) Geezers Brewery

The first dog-friendly business on our list is Geezers Brewery. Geezers taproom may be new, but these guys have been around Knoxville long enough to know  we take our furry friends’ comfort very seriously. That’s why they threw open their new taproom’s doors to both you and your pup!

2.) Southside Garage

This food truck park in South Knoxville has a big beautiful backyard we adore – but the reason they’re able to be open year round is their convenient indoor bar. The good news for you? Your dog is welcome in both spaces!

3.) Alliance Brewing Co.

When you’re done hanging out at Ijams or Suttrees Landing in South Knoxville, head over to Alliance. They’re all about that active beer culture, and active beer culture is all about that dog-lovin’ life. Whether you’re hanging out on Alliance’s patio or cozying up inside, feel free to bring your four-legged friend!

4.) Mast General Store

If you’re strolling downtown, a great place to pop in with your pup is Mast General Store! Not only are they pet friendly, but they also sell a whole bunch of toys, treats, and goodies for your dog. Treat yo’self and then treat yo pup by heading over to the downtown dog park located down a couple blocks and around the corner.

5.) KBrew (North Broadway)

While you don’t see pups come inside, it’s still not hard to hang with your doggo at K Brew. Their garage hammock space is dog friendly and still has all the amenities of the indoors – seating, heating, and outlets. Not only that, but their staff is always ready with a water bowl and a good belly rub!

6.) Next Level Brewery

Next Level Brewery may have next level beer – but they also boast next level hospitality. That’s right, your dog is warmly welcomed inside Knoxville’s newest brewery in North Knox. Is your furry friend getting a little antsy? The good times don’t have to end! Take your pup for a quick walk down the street to land at our final dog-friendly business…

Crafty Bastard Brewery is very dog friendly in Knoxville Tennessee

7.) Crafty Bastard Brewery

This local brewery may take the cake.

Speaking of cake, we once stopped by Crafty Bastard Brewery on a Sunday (in understandable anticipation of a low-key afternoon) and were met with a large crowd. Upon further inspection, we found out they were hosting a birthday party for a beloved furry friend.

HOW CUTE IS THAT? We’re talking dog treats, live music, the whole shabang.
These guys love their dogs.

Crafty Bastard also puts their money where their mouth is and periodically host fundraisers for Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee, Inc. Feel free to bring your dogs inside or outside at Crafty’s (at both their Downtown North & West locations!) – just be prepared for lots of pets and boops from the other dog-lovin’ patrons.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! 🤩

Here are a few more of our favorites to hit up with your pup:

⭐️ Merchants of Beer
⭐️ Albright Brewery
⭐️ Hi-Wire Brewing

As you can see, Knoxville is ripe and ready to be best friend’s with your dog. Between dog parks, pet-friendly establishments, and greenways galore, you and your furry friend will have no problem exploring the city. If you want to be best friend’s with some humans as well, head here to learn about New2Knox Small Groups!
